Et tu, Bruce?

A win tonight against Wigan would move United into second place in the table, but beating Steve Bruce’s reborn side could prove a tricky task. Wigan has won their last four games and only lost once in the last ten. Heskey and Zaki form a dangerous spearhead while midfielders Valencia and Palacios have attracted attention from several top clubs, including United last season if the tabloids are to be believed.

Bruce was for many years one of Ferguson’s most trusted lieutenants, but tonight he might just deal a blow to the title hopes of his old master.

United are without Evra and Ferdinand and will probably rest a few of those who started against Chelsea, such as Giggs and Fletcher.

My line-up: Van der Sar; Rafael, Vidic, Evans, O’Shea; Ronaldo, Carrick, Anderson, Park; Rooney, Berbatov. (I’d love to see Tosic on the bench, but it’s probably too early for that.)
