Que Sera, Saha

Posted by hakanrylander on February 11, 2010

I always had a soft spot for Louis Saha. And of course I like him even better after he scored two goals against Chelsea last night.

Even though he was injured most of the time during his spell at Old Trafford I was sad to see him leave. When fit he made a great contribution to the team as the focal point of a very mobile attack. I don’t remember United ever making better use of the 4-2-3-1 system than during Saha’s longest injury-free run when for maybe a couple of months he played up front with Ronaldo, Rooney and Giggs just behind him. His pace, mobility and aerial ability made him perfect for the position.

It’s good to see that he seems to have overcome his injury problems and is back to his best even though I would prefer him not to hit top form when we play Everton a week on Saturday. But the future’s not ours, to see. What will be, will be.

It was a shame to see Saha leave but the injury problems were really frustrating so I think SAF was right to let him go.
